Colorado Clean Fleet Vehicle & Technology Grant Program
The Clean Fleet Enterprise’s (CFE) Clean Fleet Vehicle and Technology Grant Program is a statewide competitive application process for eligible light-, medium- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Fleets will provide background information on their current fleet make-up, indicate the level of planning that has occurred for fleet transition, and provide financial information on vehicles and/or technology the fleet plans to acquire. In general, a successful applicant will convey an understanding of the grant program criteria, their preparedness to manage a complex and long-term fleet transition project, and their commitment to maintaining battery and fuel cell electric or recovered methane vehicles in everyday fleet operations.

Please note: The Program will not fund projects retroactively (i.e. vehicles and/or technology may not be ordered, purchased or installed prior to application submission and award acknowledgement).
Eligible Vehicles
Model Year 2010 and prior vehicles are typically associated with higher contributions to poor quality. Therefore, if you're looking to replace an older vehicle pre-2010, you also get an incentive for the new purchase of a vehicle, to include scrapping the vehicle amount. Although, it is not required to scrap a vehicle, but it is highly encouraged by the Program.
Vehicle Grant Incentives
Listed below are maximum funding incentives offered through the Clean Fleet Vehicle and Technology Grant Program by All-Electric and Fuel Cell, and vehicle weight class. These incentive levels will be periodically revisited and revised over time:
- Electric and Fuel Cell Electric:
- - Class 6: 55%
- - Class 7 and 8: 60%
Please note: Applicants may request a lower award total (per vehicle) than the percentages outlined above. Doing so may prioritize the application during the review process.
Vehicle Scrappage Requirements & Incentives
Vehicle scrappage is not required in order to qualify for this funding cycle. However, the Clean Fleet Enterprise strongly encourages applicants to scrap pre-2010 fleet vehicles where possible. Fleets that choose to scrap any vehicles will be eligible to receive an additional funding incentive up to the amounts outlined below:
- Class 6 (19,501 - 26,000 lbs.): $25,000
- Class 7+ (26,000 + lbs.): $30,000
